Frequently Asked Questions.
Straight Answers, No Sales Pitch
Everything people ask us before they start — websites, hosting, marketing and design — answered plainly, without the sales pitch.

If it is not answered here, ask us. We would rather explain something twice than let a question stop you.
These are the questions we hear most often from business owners weighing up a website, a Care Plan or a marketing plan. The answers are honest, which occasionally means telling you what you do not need.
Section 01
Working With Us
How a project starts, what it costs, and what we need from you.
How do I get started?
Send us a message through the contact form, phone us, or WhatsApp us. We will have one conversation about what your business does and who you are trying to reach, send you a short questionnaire, and come back with a written quote that spells out scope, timing and cost. No obligation at that point.
Do you only work with businesses in Pretoria?
We are based in Pretoria and most of our clients are local, but we work with businesses across South Africa. Everything a project needs — briefing, previews, revisions, training — happens comfortably over a call, and we meet in person where it is practical.
How does your pricing work?
Website plans are fixed, once-off prices: R750 for a one-page site, R2500 for the four-page Business Website Plan and R5000 for the Online Store Plan. Care Plans are a fixed monthly fee. Anything outside those — marketing, SEO management, brand work, extra features — is scoped with you first and quoted before any work begins, so the number on the quote is the number on the invoice.
What do you need from me before you start?
Your logo and any brand files you have, a rough idea of the pages you want, and any existing content, images or login details for your domain. If you do not have content yet, that is fine — AI-assisted content creation is part of every website plan, and we draft it with you.
Will I be able to update the website myself?
Yes. It is a WordPress website and you can log in and make changes. Online Store clients get a training session as part of their plan. If you would rather not touch it, content changes are available as an add-on to your Care Plan and we handle them for you.
Can you take over a website someone else built?
Yes. We audit what is there first and tell you honestly whether it is worth keeping. In most cases the first step is moving it onto our hosting and a Care Plan, so it is backed up, updated and monitored before anything else is touched.
Section 02
Websites & Web Development
Plans, ownership, timelines and what is actually included in a build.
What is the difference between the three website plans?
The Basic Website Plan (R750) is a focused one-page scrolling site. The Business Website Plan (R2500) is four pages — Home, About, Services and Contact — with an expanded structure for stronger credibility and SEO. The Online Store Plan (R5000) covers the online store itself: a shop page, basket, checkout, payment gateway integration, customer account area, ten products uploaded and a client training session. It does not include website pages such as Home, About, Services and Contact; those are quoted separately. Every plan includes custom design, AI-assisted content, basic SEO setup, domain connection, SSL and builder configuration.
How long does a website take?
The clock starts the day we have your content and images. The structured copy stage is usually what sets the pace — the build itself is quick — and you get a firm timeline with your quote rather than a guess on this page.
Do I actually own the website?
Yes. The domain, the hosting account and the website files are yours. We manage them for you; we do not hold them hostage.
Do I need to write my own content?
No. Every plan includes AI-assisted content creation: structured, conversion-focused copy for each page, professionally refined and edited. You review it, we adjust it until it sounds like your business, and you have the final say.
What if I need more pages later?
Additional pages are R750 each on the Business Website Plan and can be added whenever you are ready. The build is structured to extend, so nothing needs rebuilding.
Will my website work on phones?
Yes. More than half of your visitors will arrive on a phone, so every page is designed at phone width first and scaled up — not built for desktop and squashed down afterwards.
Is SEO included in a website build?
The foundations are. Every plan includes meta titles and descriptions, a Google-friendly page structure and basic keyword optimisation. Ongoing SEO management — content, links, local visibility, reporting — is a separate service that builds on top of that.
Can I sell products online?
Yes, on the Online Store Plan. It ships with the shop, basket, checkout and payment gateway connected, ten products loaded and a training session so your team can manage orders and stock. The plan covers the store only — website pages such as Home, About, Services and Contact are quoted separately. Additional products beyond the first ten are billed at an hourly rate, which we agree with you upfront.
Section 03
Hosting & Care Plans
What keeps the website running after launch, and what it costs.
What is a Care Plan, and do I need one?
A Care Plan is the technical protection behind your website: hosting, backups, updates, monitoring and fixes. On sites we build it is compulsory, because it is what lets us stand behind the work. WordPress is open-source software and, left unmaintained, it is a liability rather than an asset.
What does a Care Plan include?
Hosting with 10GB SSD storage, professional email hosting with up to 250 mailboxes on your domain, daily backups, weekly software updates, uptime monitoring, 24-hour critical fixes, bug fixes and breakages, image optimisation on upload, and the premium plugin and builder licences the site runs on — software valued at over R30 000.
What does a Care Plan not include?
Content changes, redesign work and marketing. Care Plans are deliberately technical, with clear boundaries and predictable costs. All three are available as add-on services when you need them.
Which Care Plan do I need?
The Lite Care Plan (R299 per month) covers Basic one-page websites. The Website Care Plan (R499 per month) covers Business and Online Store websites. Your quote will state which one applies.
What is the minimum term?
Twelve months. That covers the annual software licences that are included in the plan.
Can I host my website elsewhere?
You can, but the Care Plans are built around our environment. Hosting with us is what lets us guarantee the backups, updates and fix times.
Are my emails included?
Yes. Professional email hosting with up to 250 mailboxes on your own domain is part of both Care Plans.
What happens if my website goes down?
Monitoring alerts us, not you. Critical issues are addressed within 24 hours, and daily backups mean a restore point is never more than a day old. Between the SSL certificate, weekly updates and security monitoring, most problems are caught before they become downtime.
Section 04
Marketing, SEO & Social Media
Timelines, guarantees, ownership and what to do first.
How long until SEO shows results?
Meaningful movement takes months rather than weeks, and competitive terms take longer still. Anyone promising page one in a fortnight is selling you something else. We set the expectation before you commit, not after.
Can you guarantee first place on Google?
No, and neither can anyone else. What we can guarantee is that the work is documented, measurable and reversible if it does not perform.
Do I need a new website before I start marketing?
Usually, yes. Sending paid traffic to a site that does not convert is the most expensive mistake in marketing. We will tell you honestly if the website is the bottleneck.
How soon will online marketing produce leads?
Paid channels can produce enquiries within days. Organic visibility takes considerably longer. We work out which channels are worth your budget before spending a cent on any of them, and we report on what each one actually returned.
Who owns the ad accounts and social media accounts?
You do. Accounts are created under your business, we work inside them, and you keep full access whether or not you keep working with us.
How many social media posts per month?
It depends on the platform and your goals. We will recommend a cadence you can sustain rather than the biggest number we can sell.
Do you handle paid advertising as well?
Yes. Paid ads fall under Online Marketing, and they work best when they are planned together with your social media and landing pages rather than run in isolation.
Section 05
Design & Brand
What you receive, what you own, and how design fits into a build.
Is design included in a website build?
Yes. Every Onware website plan includes a custom design setup aligned with your branding. Standalone UX / UI work is for teams who already have a developer or an existing product.
I only need a logo. Can you just do that?
We can, but a logo without positioning behind it tends to get replaced within two years. We will tell you honestly which you need.
Do I own the artwork?
Yes. You receive the full vector source files and own them outright — no licensing, no ransom for the originals.
Can you work with our existing brand, or refresh it?
Both. Send us your guidelines and asset files and we will work within them. If they need a refresh, we keep the equity you have already built and fix what stops it working. If they do not exist, we will tell you what is missing.
Do you handle the printing?
We supply print-ready files and can coordinate with your printer, or recommend one we trust in Pretoria.
How many revisions are included?
A set number of rounds is included in every quote and agreed upfront. Anything beyond that is flagged with you before it happens, never after.
Still Have Questions?
Ask Us Directly.
No question is too small. Phone, WhatsApp or email us and you will get a plain answer from the person who will actually do the work.
